Description

What do you get when you cross a self proclaimed philosopher, an ADD sufferer, and a guy that likes to keep everything on the surface? Chaos!!! They argue, fight, and then figure out a way to agree in the end. No matter what, they give you the sometimes moronic, mostly ironic perspectives of todays topics. Great show to listen to and very decent debates. I listened to the 11/20/14 episode and It was nice to hear Nasty Nel reference the book by Malcolm Gladwell, The Tipping Point. That book relates to ideas and trends that become big or "tip" by those who promote and believe based on the who, what, when, and where. For example, you have a kid who likes wrist bands. That kid wears his band to school everyday, and everyday he's wearing a different color. Then one day, his group of friends start wearing those bands and soon there after, the whole school is wearing them. In this example, there is a tipping point that makes those bands a trend and everyone wants them; Just like Hip Hop.
Hip Hop wasn't major as much as it is now until more and more people started rapping or "story telling" about trends and ways of life like they did back then. Hip hop nowadays lacks a lot of substance and definitely has an influence on today's youth, but I wouldn't say all youth. A huge part in raising children is interacting with them at home. More and more people are having children at young ages with no understanding of where to begin at parenting. So you have children raising children and in most cases, the ball gets dropped. Our "modern day rap music" is what our youth and their parents are looking up to and in more ways than not, it's sad.
