great video on improv & composition!

These ideas I'm gonna use myself! Oh, ok, and share with students. I suggest printing up the one page "Composition Cheat Sheet" first so you can make notes on it while you're watching. There are lots of really good, simple, clear ideas that are all very modern & effective for working with teens & young adults particularly. I like Daniel's 4 different pentatonic scales as jumping off points for 4 very different moods. The he touches on the modes and gives very succinct descriptions of each; for example, "Lydian- the "SImpsons" mode- quirky." There's a lot packed into this one hour and I know I'll revisit it again. Thanx so much Tim for putting this together. Looking forward to other broadcasts.

Wealth of information!!!

I just cancelled a paid subscription to a piano site because one hour with Tim Topham and friends gave me more useable information in a more entertaining way than a whole year at the other place. Subscribe. Now!!
