Non-Stop Magic Action Thrill-Ride

This well-written novel by (far as I can tell) first-time podcaster J.A. Areces is a fantastic novel about witches, wizards, and finding oneself after high school. There are elements similar to many popular magic-infused novels of today and includes pop-culture references of our day and age. My favorite part of the book is the description the author gives of magic. What is it? Listen and find out.

Draws you right in

Kicks Harry Potter's butt. Drew me in to the story in less than 20 seconds.

More fun than I would have thought

I enjoyed this podiobook more than I would have thought. Areces was a little slow in the early chapters and tended to repeat himself. But you could definitely see him grow as a writer as the story progressed. This is a story about a normal guy (Jessie) who finds a job through the internet working at a wizards and witches corner store, frequented by Halloween enthusiasts, or so Jessie thought. That is until he meets Chu-U-Chu, a real wizard, invesitigating murders of people being scared to death. I found it amusing.
