Listening for a year, the OLR crew gives great news and reviews with their often brutal honest style. The rapport between Jamie, Matt, and Rob is perfect. These guys have been the best at releasing weekly episodes. Audience participation is not only encouraged, it's graciously accepted.
Five Stars for the Content...
Five stars for the copious amounts of news from all corners of the gaming universe, then subtract two stars because of DarkSakura. The sole female among the three hosts, DarkSakura is the worst radio personality imaginable. Her voice is absurdly annoying. She never has anything of value to contribute. And although this show has apparently been going for close to four years, she still doesn't seem to understand how to use a microphone-- the audio quality implies that she shoves it into her throat prior to recording. Despite the generally high quality of Orange Lounge Radio, DarkSakura alone makes it unlistenable. I can't tell you how many of my friends have unsubscribed from this otherwise promising show because of her.
One of the best video game podcasts I have come across.
News, reviews, previews, interviews, and a live show every Sunday, you can't ask for more than OLR! The news is very fast, up to date, and very accurate. The reviews are insightful without being to harsh or overbearing. Covering most genres and all the systems, OLR is a sure bet for video game information. Interveiws with different people lead to informative sessions. The interactive live show is a great way to get involved with the OLR community. Not your average gaming podcast, check this one out.
