A podcast about gardening hosted by Steve Whysall. Born in Nottingham, England, Steve Whysall has been the garden writer for The Sun for more than a decade. His column appears every Friday along with two other garden features he writes, Flowering Now and The Minute Read.
I'm enjoying the content of Steve Whysall's garden podcasts, particularly the guided tours of gardens in the Vancouver area. I do have one production criticism; the background music is intrusive, incessant, and repetitive, consisting of the same 8 meaures running in a loop throughout the broadcast. Because of this, Whysall's insightful commentary is very difficult to absorb, and I'm only able to listen in 2-3 minute increments. The information is excellent and could stand alone, with only some "bumper music" at the beginning and end of each segment. I tried to email this concern, rather than posting it publicly, but was not successful in locating a valid email address for Mr. Whysall or the Vancouver Sun. I hope this podcast continues - good audio content for listening while gardening is scarce! Note added September 10: the music problem has been fixed, and the podcast is much more enjoyable. Many thanks!
