Excellent on-point soundtrack discussions

For me as a film music enthusiast, this podcast has really tickled my fancy with interesting, pertinent, meaningful discussions about how the music I enjoy works in their respective films. It’s been a wonderful blend of reviewing the basics, acknowledging the little details that I noticed that none of my friends understand (here’s looking at you, Habanera cameo in “Up”) and bringing up discussion points and insights that I hadn’t yet considered.

Perhaps my favorite aspect are the episodes where the hosts each pick a favorite cue or score from a set and discuss why they’re so grand (i.e. Star Wars, Pixar, etc).

I don't have many friends with whom I can discuss my love of film scores, so finding a podcast that features people who also love film scores was a huge delight. Not only that, but the fact that each of the hosts/co-hosts is a respectable composer in his/her own right means that they are highly educated in their discussion of this music, which makes the podcast all the more fun to listen to. I highly recommend it to anyone who claims to enjoy film scores.

Thanks for writing about movie scores

It’s great to hear people talk about movie scores. I feel like I learn new things about the genre each time I listen to your podcast. Great job. I really enjoyed the breakdown of scores from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (that was super funny and enjoyable). Keep up the great work.
One idea that might be good would be to post possibly a week in advance the topic of a podcast and then people could send in their ideas/comments/questions to also contribute. Thank you for your quality discussions.
