Description

The HT Simulcast is a no-holds-barred, buckle-in, undiluted Gospel dispensing Higher Things Lutheran podcast. Really. We totally know what we're doing.

Gospel sluts?

This organization has really gone downhill, and this podcast might be the best example of that. Once Higher Things was known for faithful Lutheran theology, and for not acting like all the other “edgy” youth ministry outfits. Now, the goal seems to be to outdo each other in crass language and a complete abandonment of genuine Law-Gospel Lutheran teaching. The Gospel Reductionism on display here is tragic, and I urge all faithful Lutherans to exercise great discernment. The “Gospel Slut” episode (#30) has been revised, but the fact that it ever existed is indicative of a deep problem.

I only recently began listening to the Simulcast, but it has quickly become a favorite. The topics are interesting, and when non perfect people talk about non perfect subjects, there is room for challenging how we see things on different sides. I love to see how even our imperfections can point to the One who does what we cannot.

My Favorite Podcast

As a high schooler, I'm pretty busy, and this podcast has been great for me because I can listen anytime and hear the Gospel. I especially enjoy hearing complex topics such as "doubt" discussed by people who have come from various walks of life. The style is engaging, and the focus is Christ. I tune in every week.
