Strangely Enjoyable
After going through all of the Lovecraft audiobooks, this is exactly what I was looking for to keep my mind occupied. Truly a great podcast of the strange worlds between fantasy and reality. Stories like these me me question what it means to have a Happy Ending.
Goes the extra mile!!
I have to say, I am impressed by the quality of these podcasts. Though the first few are the weakest in terms of prosady, the author's visual ingenuity is frankly fascinating. The writing quality improves by the positively breathtaking fourth piece (Gift of the Crossroads), as Sharkchild cuts out some of the unessential prepositional phrases that somtimes clutter the first three pieces. The author's vocal performance is highly enjoyable, as are the eerie musical accompaniments. My wife and I just drove around the city, listening to twelve of these remarkable podcasts, and we look forward to many more. Sharkchild needs an editor at times, but who doesn't?
Nifty!
Good fraggin' stuff here! Listen to this podcast, I command it. Buy the author's book, for this too I command. I almost want to call this a great blending of the styles of Lovecraft, Poe, and The Twilight Zone, however, there is a more undefineable aspect about this. Maybe it is the fact that there are all these odd, creepy stories are prefaced by the west coast accent of an author who seems pretty down to earth and cool. Cheers Sharkchild! Keep them coming!
