WOW Dave is the king! & if he were president America would be in better financial shape. His tell it like it is approach is exactly what people need to hear. For anyone that is caught in the web of credit card debt and needs a way out this is the program for you!
Good show...for a while
I appreciate Dave's compassion for his destitute callers and his sound plan, but I was able to gather all of his insights after the first three podcasts. Once you've mastered the basics (build emergency fund, pay off debts small to large, invest, drop car leases) there's not much else to hear from a educational standpoint, especially if you're like me and already a natural saver. I still enjoy listening occasionally, but listen to "Creating Wealth on Your Current Income" and read "Money" magazine for more specific financial insights on investing, taxes, and retirement planning.
Absolutely practical. Always entertaining.
Dave Ramsey's principle that "personal finance is 80% PERSONAL and only 20% head knowledge" has catapulted him into national fame. He takes a no-nonsense, screw-the-theory-I'm-talking-about-humans approach to finance. It's immensely practical (it's helped my wife and I get out and stay out of debt) but he's also one of the most entertaining personalities you'll ever hear or see on the air. The only negative thing about his podcast is that it's only one hour of his three hour show. Highly recommended for everyone.
