Great Podcast to Meet all the Members of the PHP Community

Living in a smaller technology city, it's difficult to know and hear from all the leaders of the PHP community. Voices of the Elephpant helps me expand my knowledge of what is going on at large in the community and who is doing it. The interviews are typically short, but packed full of great information. I like the simple three question approach and the results from those questions are often quite surprising to me. I also like how he interviews some people who are doing other semirelated things such as running large open source projects and gets their insight into how that is done. I'd have to say my favorite episodes so far are the one with Scott Gordon and Brandon Savage on recruiters and the most recent one with Keith Casey. Cal is a great host. Althought he's yet to interview himself on the podcast, which I think would make for an excellent episode with all he contributes to the PHP community.

Build your knowledge while you commute

I spend over an hour a day in the car, and listening to VotE during my commute keeps this from being wasted time. It's great to hear how others solve the same software problems I face everyday. It expands my knowledge and helps me think "outside the box" as a developer.

Succinct and useful

Most VotE episodes are quite short, usually less than 30 minutes. Cal keeps the interview on track, but also really lets the guest express their ideas freely. Highly recommended for anyone working in php or in web development generally.
