A very enjoyable podcast with a annoying flaw....

I really enjoy Wormwood, It has an interesting story that is well written. The acting ranges from bland to quite good. I found the main character of xander crow to be interesting if a little unsympethetic and a little too loud audioly at times (but that is a engineering problem, more on that in a moment). I found the opening theme to be quite good and have found myself humming it at times....But, my main grip with this excellent podcast and the only reason I couldnt give it 5 full stars is that the sound effects mixing and quality is very poor and takes the listener out of the story. I hope that future episodes will address this problem. The sound effects really sound like they come from a computer and have no reality to them...the sounds are often muted or echoy like when people are walking or talking in outdoor locations and you hear the echo of the room that they are recording in. I would suggest that maybe you guys should take a old school approach to sound the effects live with real props. use rain sticks and shoes on wooden boxes...get a little inventive and take a page from radio dramas of old. If you treat the sound effects as secondary to the story then you will get a less then ideal podcast no matter how good the story or acting are. I really look forward to more from you guys as i do enjoy the writing and acting and think that this is a wonderful form of entertainment.

This series is incredible! and Damn Creepy too...

After listening for the past twelve weeks and watching the drama unfold, I went back to the beginning and starting taking notes this time. The writing is sharp and clever, while the talented vocal cast brings Wormwood, California to life in our imagination. The technical production of the show has also reached peak performance as Season One has progressed. Try listening in stereo headphones for a true aural feast. Wormwood also seems to break new barriers as a true collaboration. The writers' circle that has been assembled trades off writing episodes, with a slightly different personality showing through each time. Hat's off to the show's producers for bringing together such a talented cast and crew. I do feel a but sorry for the shows's characters though. I'm scared to think where this story is taking us next and what horrors are in store for the town. It's already damn creepy, and things are looking to get even worse. (All I've puzzeled out so far, is to pay special attention to the names Roosevelt and Bloomington.) Welcome to town...

Wormwood: The Next Big Thing

This Podcast rocks. I have been on pins and needle waiting for the episodes to come out. I have not heard a lot of padcast as I am a new IPod owner so I thought I would give a spin and try it out. I am a sucker for mysteries and wanted to give this a try. I was not disappointed. Great story, great pacing. Creepy scenes and a freaking awesome new bad guy; The Muddy Man. The actors have been great. The guy playing Crowe is fantastic and does an awesome job. Can't wait for episode 4. Keep up the excellent work.
