Descrição da editora

In this book, the topic of nature gardens is explored by means of a real-life example. This work does not aim at creating a ready-made system, but rather at providing the reader with a goal-oriented set of thoughts on how to approach nature gardens. Thus, the art of how to see small local natural-cultural areas in a regional and global framework and how to value them appropriately is in the foreground. In times when sustainability plays an increasingly significant role, this is particularly important and just.

Regarding the source of inspiration which made him write this book, author Albert Spitzer says: ìI consider the quarry ñ the Heart of Carinthia, on the north shore of Lake Keutschach, at the foot of the Pyramidenkogel ñ to be a nature garden, and thus one nature garden among many. The term ëThe Heart of Carinthiaí was coined when I saw by an aerial photograph which showed the quarry to be heart-shaped; a detail which filled me with confidence.î
