Pura Velocidad is the debut album by Almas Mudas, a young rock group from Zaragoza that has been enjoying rather high visibility for a new act, thanks to regular TV appearances. Produced by Kim Fanlo (Nena Daconte) and mastered by Mike Mash (Oasis, Stereophonics), Pura Velocidad is an album in which Almas Mudas wear their influences on their sleeves, from the Strokes posturing on the cover to the Brit-pop-influenced fast guitars, catchy choruses, and overall swagger that dominate their songs about the rock & roll nightlife.

With a style echoing the youthful swagger of the early Strokes and a sound inspired by the Brit-pop of the '90s, Almas Mudas emerged as one of Spain's brightest young indie talents. Frontman Miguel Rived, guitarists Simon Franco and Alberto Solobera, bassist David Idiope, and drummer Pedro Presa formed in Zaragoza in 2005, and after touring their hometown's live circuit, reached the final of the city's annual Popyrock contest.
