Jennie Smith's self-titled debut album with a diverging collection of the playful, the flirtatious, and mostly the seductive — with a lot of help from arranger/conductor Ray Ellis, on numbers such as "I'm a Fool to Want You" or "(You May Not Be an Angel But) I'll String Along With You," she outdoes Julie London at her own game, and sounds a lot older than 18 years old, as well.
