What’s New
Version History
7.5.1
Vimeo is super optimized for the iPad Pro. Dive in and enjoy a wondrously, rapturously, honestly eerily beautiful playback experience on your big fancy rectangle. And of course, it wouldn’t be an App Store update without a shoutout to all the performance we enhanced and bugs we fixed.

7.4.0
In this update, the most popular privacy settings are listed before the other ones. Is it the biggest deal in the world? No. But it is a tweak that’ll make you go “huh, that’s pretty useful!” That’s what we aim for—an improvement here, an optimization there, until one day we’re all immortal cyborgs, paying no mind to the passage of time.
Until then, we can’t believe the year’s almost over. Thank you for making this community as wonderful as it is. From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate you, and we think you’ll love what’s to come in 2019.
7.3.1
For all the neat freaks and meticulous engineers out there, this one’s for you. Aside from the standard bug fixes, we updated our monitoring and tracking tools. While they couldn’t be less noticeable in your experience of watching cool videos, they’ll help us learn where we can improve the app’s performance in the future, forever and ever.
7.2.0
We channeled our inner Edna Mode and replaced the menu bar’s dreary, passé, hideous dark gray with a radically chic dark blue. A shade you’ll no doubt be seeing on runways for years to come. What’s that you say? Visionaries? Us? You’re always so flattering, dahlings.
7.1.0
In this week’s episode of The Vimeo App, the welcome screen finally dumps its bf, gets a mini-makeover, and finds the confidence it needed all along. Meanwhile, the homepage and navigation system end up embroiled in a fierce battle with some feisty bugs (spoiler alert: the bugs always lose).
7.0.0
Extra big deal alert! Say hello to a new homepage that combines your own videos with what we ravenously refer to as the “Feed” (a.k.a. all the list of amazing videos and activity from your community).
To see only your videos, just tap All videos and, well, that’s what you’ll see!
Other updates: your mobile profile now matches your vimeo.com profile, so it shows your public videos in the same order. And we added new sorting options to make it easier to find the video you want.
6.31.1
If you like barely any changes, then you’ll love this new update! Come on in and let your eyeballs feast.

6.30
The name of the game in this update is privacy! We got real granular and added privacy controls for downloading and commenting on your videos. Your commenting options are anyone, no one, and just people you follow. And you can either let people download your video or, y’know, not.
The settings completely match what’s on vimeo.com, and the changes you make in once place will be saved everywhere, because it’s 2018.
6.29.0
In this update, you can upload directly to Vimeo without even going into the app itself.
From any place on your phone that has the share feature (we’re looking at you, Camera Roll), just pick Vimeo as your destination and it’ll automatically upload the video in the background.
And remember: sharing makes the world go ‘round.
6.28.0
Closed captioning is an astoundingly easy way to make your videos more accessible, and we’re overjoyed to announce that they appear on videos in the app, just like on the site.
“That sounds cool, but how do I add captions?” we literally just heard you say. Well, you can upload captions in your video’s settings on vimeo.com, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that your video is accessible to more people.
And if you’ve been having nightmares about bugs, rest easy. They’re fixed.
6.27.0
All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. All bugs and no improvements makes Vimeo a dull app. So we fixed some bugs and improved some performance!
6.26.1
In the latest installment in our quest to make the app even better: we got rid of some bugs in the feed, the player, and the “Offline” tab.
6.25.0
In this update: more privacy! Now when you look at your video settings, you’ll find extra options to set your video to a private link, or totally hidden. These match the settings on vimeo.com, so you can have more control over your videos whenever you need it, wherever you need it. Also, if things were weird with the Camera Roll and search window on your iPad, we fixed that.
6.24
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “It would be great if they had a setting that let me turn autoplay off and on,” then you can consider this update Pretty Great. Instead of automatically playing videos all the time, now you can toggle autoplay off, or on, from any video you’re watching. Dive in and watch on (but, y'know, at your own pace).
6.23
Teeny tiny update this time around, but nonetheless quite helpful: now you can hop into your settings to see how much upload space you have left. Beyond that, we found a couple hidden bugs. And you know what we did? Fixed ‘em.
6.21
Лучше поздно, чем никогда, amirite? This update includes the full app you know and love, only now officially available in Russian! If that’s your favorite language, celebrate! If not, maybe still celebrate, because languages are pretty much the coolest things in the world. The more languages we can offer, the more filmmakers we can support, and the more videos we can share to inspire the world. Ура!
6.20
A new share feature is here to show you the meaning of haste. Now you can share a video’s review page directly from the video. Just tap the share button below your video, pick where you want to send it, and swoosh. You’re done! Or… are you just getting started?
6.19
If you like barely any changes, then you’ll love this new update! We greased a few gears and fixed a couple small things that needed fixing, like a portrait mode glitch and a missing error message. It’s pretty much the same great app with the same tasty videos. Come on in and let your eyeballs feast.
6.18
Here’s a full-sized update for your iPhone X: now when you double tap on a full screen video, it’ll take over the entire screen. The default playback still avoids He Who Shall Notch Be Named, but after a bunch of y’all asked for a truly full screen option, of course we added it!
6.17
We love checking notifications. New information gets our dopamine flowing, but it’s also just so satisfying to clear that little red dot. We would never deprive you of that joy, so we fixed a bug that made the red dot impossible to dismiss.
Also, there’s a new settings shortcut! Now, you’ll see your settings right from your video, making it easier to adjust privacy settings on the the fly.
Some other fixes: an issue with updating profiles, and behind-the-scenes improvements.
6.16.3
To all those who want more tools and more storage (like, a lot more storage) right from your phone: rejoice. Now you can upgrade to a Plus membership from the app, making it that much easier to add the videos you want and adjust settings without having to switch devices to upgrade. And even more good news: live events just got a whole livier, because now you can chat with your audience while you’re live. Let the good vibes roll!

To bold, or not to bold, that is the question: whether ’tis a bug in the app unnoticed or by some dark intent devised in daring and so emboldened: bolded.
Turns out, the bold (which you may or may not have noticed) was a bug, so this version comes with a couple unbolded labels. Happy uploading!
