About Jay Graydon

A Grammy-winning guitarist, songwriter, and producer, Jay Graydon is known for his extensive credits in the pop, rock, and R&B genres. He first emerged as a session player in the '70s, establishing his reputation as a gifted soloist for Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and others. Graydon formed a lasting partnership with David Foster, penning the 1979 Grammy Award-winning Earth, Wind & Fire hit "After the Love Has Gone." He also wrote George Benson's 1981 Grammy-winning hit "Turn Your Love Around." Along with his own work, including 1980's Airplay with Foster and 1993's Airplay for the Planet, Graydon has worked with such artists as Chicago, Air Supply, Cher, Christopher Cross, Barry Manilow, Herbie Hancock, and Al Jarreau, among others.
