About Raphael

At the age of nine, multilingual Spanish singer and actor Rafael Martos won a children's festival where contestants from all over Europe were competing. Now among Spain's most prolific artists and flamboyant performers, Raphael began by representing Spain at the Eurovision Music Festival with his song "Yo Soy Aquél" in 1966, and returned to Eurovision in 1967 with "Hablemos del Amor." Since then he has released more than 300 gold and 50 platinum albums. In 1998, he published his 569-page autobiography, ¿Y Mañana Qué?, and has continued to tour and record. Not even a liver transplant at age 72 slowed him down for long. 2020's high-charting 6.0 included duets with a wide range of Latin artists including Luis Fonsi and Natalia Lafourcade. Raphael followed it in 2022 with the conceptual Victoria, which was composed by producer/arranger Pablo López, and recorded with the London Metropolitan Orchestra conducted by Andy Brown.
