Maryland's Chris McClenney is a singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who makes a soulful blend of jazz, R&B, funk, and dance music. A native of Ellicott City, Maryland, McClenney grew up listening to an organic mix of artists like Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, and Tribe Called Quest. However, it wasn't until after he started playing the video game Guitar Hero, that he was inspired to take up learning the guitar and pursue music in earnest. After high school, he honed his skills studying jazz piano at the University of Maryland, during which time he also began releasing songs online. He soon garnered a following for his sound, which utilized both real instrumentation and computer-based production techniques.
