The best way to write and work with text on a mac!

Great way to start using markdown language

Over the years I've been frustrated with the most used alternatives based on WYSIWYG.

Often, I find myself wasting too much time formatting the text since I use vendor and scripting syntax quite a lot within my notes. So, I started looking into markdown editors but some has a subscription model which was out of the question since it raises questions about what happens to your data when you decide to switch or don't want to use it anymore. Others has issues with each time I added an image it was given a weird random name and placed in a folder hierarchy which was just bad.

So, I tried this app and found it useful from the start, first you just pay once and no irritating subscription model. Second, I don't find myself wasting any time wondering where my files and pictures are stored since I either pick from iCloud or Dropbox, that simple! But the best part is that my notes are actually useful and great to look at for e.g. when studying for a new test and commuting to/from work.

If there’s one downside I see is that the app crashes when coming back from hibernation/sleep and you start to type, but on the other side taking notes and looking at them later without worrying about any layout/design issues has never been easier. However, if you're new to markdown language it will take a few days to get adjusted to it but well worth it!

Best tool for writing

With the latest update, iA Writer is simply the best tool for writing, IMHO. Now I can focus on what I like the most, namely wiriting.
