No Retina support
Quite unusable on newer Macs as it lacks Retina support. As a result, the remote Windows desktop is rendered blurry and user experience is greatly reduced.
Otherways does its job well, and but the missing Retina support is a deal breaker.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the feedback. Retina support will be coming, we just have to work on some other tasks first to ensure that the experience is as great as it can be (for example, adding scale factor remoting).
Please improve rendering speed
It looks good but graphic rendering is slower than my old version of Remote Desktop. I belive it’s the number of colors or something. Unfortunately it’s quite a pain to work in this version but due to some security issue I can no longer use the old one that I love.
Please see if you can improve rendering speed.
Extremely slow compared to 8.0.43
After upgrading from a 2008 to a 2012 MacBook Pro, and High Sierra, I could no longer use the old Remote Desktop app, version 2 something, to connect to a VirtualBox VM running XP on a remote system.
I upgraded to version 10, and while it starts, it is so extremely slow that it is unusable.
I installed 8.0.43, which is both quick and runs well, just about the same performance as version 2.
I tunnel RDP through an ssh pipe, TCP port 3389, and it is possible that this is causing my problems, but I haven’t seen any other requirements.
Today I was notifified that there was a new version 10 app, but it is no better than the previous version.
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
