Excellent tool for writers

Being a long-term Scrivener user, I more or less tried Ulysses on a whim and became intrigued. After studying the manual, I realized that there is so much power under the hood in the form of functionality which is conveniently tucked away when you don't need it.

Scandalous.

I bought this app full price a few years ago. I've used thos so much, maybe to the point where it would be considered to be religious usage of this app.

It's truly the best! It has so many options and it was worth the price. The reason why i rate it 1/5 stars is because:

Ulysses GmbH & Co.kg, the company- decided to make this subscription based. So, it did not matter if I had paid full price to use this app before, since I now had to subscribe in order to use the app. As compensation, they offered me a discount on the one year subscription. Absoloutely unacceptable.

We are really sorry you feel this way! However, there seems to be misunderstanding: Both the iOS and macOS app of the pre-subscription version of Ulysses (now called “Ulysses Classic”) will continue to work, so you can use them as long as you like and don't need to buy a subscription if you don't want to. In fact, we have already released a minor update for Ulysses Classic a few months ago in the App Store to ensure compatibility with iOS 12. Should you need any help with the update or face an issue with Ulysses Classic, please don‘t hesitate to contact us directly via help@ulysses.app! –Alex

The best writing app ever

Being a writer for more than 30 years, I can honestly say that this app makes your work easier, more fun and more effective. If you are still stuck with Word, do yourself a favour. Try it. You will never go back.
