Pretty darned good!
Zite is the latest of several new aggregation apps I've tried and is my current favorite.
Setting it up according to one's own preferences and using it are simplicity itself. Occasionally it gets temporarily bogged down, but mostly it is quite swift on my trusty iPad 2.
One irritation with Zite and every other new aggregator I've encountered is that news browsing can be interrupted without warning while stories update. I suppose the choice for the app makers is between keeping the stories and articles as current and as many as possible at any given time or updating at the beginning of each reading session. The annoyance is just that one may find oneself rather far from the article one was reading and have to page back to it.
The enjoyment of perusing Zite over morning coffee or catching up on interesting news during a midafternoon break is worth any small snags in the way the program works.
A major plus of Zite and other aggregators is the ease with which one cans share articles of interest with others—it accesses your contacts list, so you just scroll and choose with your finger. The New York Times online service is still so primitive that you have to type in the email address of each person you wish to share an article with, unless you happen to have your address book on Yahoo! or Gmail. I don't know why anyone would do that.
I give four stars to Zite because it is a fine, well-functioning news app. Five stars would indicate something close to perfection, and I don't know what a perfect news app would be like. If you bother reading comments to news and article postings in Zite, you will find spam comments on a regular basis. You will also occasionally find yourself in an article that is obscured with advertisements or other nonsense. Not perfection!
Love this, easy to read stuff that interest me
Sleek an to the point. Excellent
Ser gärna ännu fler inställningsmöjligheter i framtiden.
