About Henrik Appel

Henrik Appel's '60s-tinged garage tunes and raw, visceral vocal style are rooted in the Stockholm punk and garage rock scene of the 2010s. He released his first solo album, the electric guitar-centric Burning Bodies, in 2018 before expanding arrangements for 2021's Humanity. Appel played bass in Martin Savage Gang and led garage rock outfit Lion's Den in the mid-2010s before emerging with his own solo material. Recorded in Stockholm with producer Martin Ehrencrona (Refused, HOLY), his full-length debut, Burning Bodies, arrived on the PNKSLM label in mid-2018. After returning to the studio with Ehrencrona and dissolving Lion's Den, he offered up second album Humanity on the same label in early 2021. It included contributions from Burning Bodies collaborators including backing vocalist and co-lyricist Emma Lind. ~ Marcy Donelson
