About The Suicide Machines
Detroit ska/punk outfit Suicide Machines formed in the early '90s and upheld the punk ethos admirably through a good 15-year year run. They were largely an indie band til a mid-'90s tour with Rancid attracted the attention of Hollywood Records. Their resultant major label debut was hailed as one of the leading alt-rock releases of the year, and sold over 200,000 copies. Follow-ups released between '98 and '01 demonstrated their growing musical maturity, but their contract with Hollywood was not renewed. Undeterred, the band went back to indie releases and quietly disbanded in '06.
