Stockholm's Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell set high standards for high-octane progressive house in the '00s, but it was once they teamed up as Swedish House Mafia, in 2010, that the trio truly conquered the world. Combining euphoric synths and dizzying drops with the sweetest of melodies—not to mention epic, larger-than-life stage shows—the three DJs took EDM out of clubs and into arenas, reshaping the sound of contemporary pop in the process. They split after a momentous 2013 farewell tour, but the SHM legacy lives on in subsequent formations, like Axwell Λ Ingrosso.
