Description

EpicWin is an iPhone app that puts the adventure back into your life. It’s a streamlined to-do list, to quickly note down all your everyday tasks, but with a role-playing spin. So rather than just ticking off your chores and reminders, completing each one earns you XP to improve and develop your character in an ongoing quest to improve stats, gain riches, and level-up.

To-do list with a Role-Playing Game spin
Streamlined and fast to use
Range of avatars to level-up with
Destroy your chores in animated battles
Points and rewards for completing your tasks
Loot to discover and share

By getting points for your chores it's easier to actually get things done. We all have good intentions but we need a bit of encouragement here and there. Doing the laundry is an epic feat of stamina so why not get stamina points for it?!

The to-do list is fully-featured and supports repeating tasks, displays reminders for overdue events and allows time-critical events to be assigned to specific days, while more aspirational quests can be set to "someday" so you don't lose sight of your goals. And each task completed is destroyed by your avatar, so get your Undead Warrior to beat-up your laundry, or your Treeman to headbutt your overspilling inbox.

The app is supplied with 5 animated avatars which grow in characteristics that represent your own life. Will you be a Maiden of Juggled Priorities, or a King of Win? The lifestyle you lead will decide.

Original, fun and effective!

A very fun app and utterly original concept. Personally I feel that anyone who tries to use this as a serious to-do app needs to think a little harder. I keep my main to-dos in a dedicated to-do app.

I never experienced any crashes from day 1. In any case a new update is available that fixes the crash that have affected others. Developer has been responsive, check out their website and facebook page, there are many happy and enthusiastic users. Dev has also indicated that they will allow paid characters to be earned in the game, some day.

The game - oops I mean app - is fun. My daughter loves it and uses it to send me on her little errands. I installed it on our iPad too so we can use it to incentivize her chores and to-dos. The fun aspect makes it easy for a child to take part. My own thirst for RPGs is well satisfied with the progress of my dwarf and the funny loot amuses my wife as well.

Here's hoping for more features including a more social experience. Five stars for now for the originality and responsiveness of the developer, and the fact that I am motivated to use this everyday. Hope you'll reward me with more goodies!

Problem with audio and also limited point reward

Hi there
I really love this app so far. Just downloaded it today in hopes of gamifying my life to max out my productivity and self improvement. This app has a really simple interface which I absolutely love and so far it has been very very useful. However, there has been some problems with the audio. I love the sound effect the game provides, but I can only hear it when my earpiece is connected to my phone. For some reason, the sound effect on this app won’t come through my phone speaker, even though the speaker is working fine. Besides this, is it okay to increase the maximum points from 300 to even more. Like 1000 or even more. There are some very tedious tasks that I feel are worth more than 300 points. And to give context to this I’m using the points in this game to equate it to minutes of unproductive time I can use. Thus why it would be great if the points can go beyond 300.

Thank you so much for this app. I will definitely be using it a lot.

RPG To-do list... Who would've thought? :)

I saw the reviews for this app on the Digital Times of our newspaper & bought it to motivate our son with it. It really has helped becoz I can set daily tasks for him (eg. to help out with the household chores, to do his homework & exam revision) and I will find a co-operative child eager to earn points to get to the next loot. XD Juz after downloading the app, our boy stopped skiving during his revision time & really focused on his work. He also packed his table & room!!! It's a US$2.99 well spent! :D I do hope they will include some mini games or other interesting "incentives" for the kids (and big kids!) to earn in-game so it stays fun & engaging without the novelty wearing out too fast on the kids. :)
