It’s a great app to track my data! There are 2 features I wish are inside. 1. The ability to automatically pause the data count on certain day of the week. My mobile plan has free data every Sunday. Or at least has the ability to manually pause. 2. Allow me to set the amount of data I have for each month. My plan has different amount of data every month. Thank you!
Very good and reliable data usage tracker!
However, I wish to bring to everyone's attention that the data usage calculated by this app, might not be the same as the telecom's calculation, since some of the data downloaded from some sources that's owned by the telecom might be free of charge. On the other hand, some telecom might do a rounding off of weekly or daily data usage, and each round up of value can accumulate into huge difference of what you're charged with, and what you are actually using.
However, this is a good reliable data usage tracker and it doesn't hog up the system's resources at all!
VPN eats up massive amount of data
After installing the app for 2 days, I realized there was a huge spike in my data usage. I checked my mobile data under settings and discovered the app used up more than 1GB of data in just 2 days. I check my telco app and it displayed the same spike over the 2 days. The rest of my apps used less than 300MB in e same 2 day period.
No doubt the Data Manager app is very useful in tracking data usage but the reason why I installed this app is to know how much data I use on each app so that I can limit my usage, so it really defeat the purpose of installing this app when the app uses massive amount of data in the background when the VPN is connected.
So I definitely would not recommend this app at all.
