Description

Why are Baltimore’s summer nights so hot?
Using live and archived WeatherBug conditions discover a phenomenon that creates differences in temperature around the Baltimore metropolitan region and demonstrate your climate know-how.
Temperature Blast and its study of the Urban Heat Island effect in Baltimore is a Citizen Science project brought to you by the Maryland Science Center, their research partners at the Baltimore Ecosystem Study, WeatherBug, the Association of Science-Technology Centers, and the National Science Foundation. Climate researchers are using data collected through the project to test local temperature models and aid in urban planning.
