Formed in 2007 out of the ashes of various Seattle post-punk bands, the most storied of which was the guitarist Derek Fudesco’s former outfit Pretty Girls Make Graves, the neo-folk trio the Cave Singers represented a radical change of musical direction for its members. With a spare, primitive sound built around acoustic guitar and its singer Peter Quirk’s frail, quavering vocals, the band sounds like the feral offspring of Bob Dylan and Memphis Minnie. ~ Steve Goulding
