Doucette

About Doucette

Jerry Doucette began playing the guitar when he was eight and joined his first band, the Reefers, three years later. When they broke up, he moved to Toronto and worked for such bands as Brutus, Trybe, Southco, the Seeds of Time and Rockette Morton. Later based in Vancouver, he and a backup band consisting of drummer Duris Maxwell, bassist Don Cummings, guitarists Brent Shindel and Jimmy Butler, and keyboardist Mark Olson recorded as Doucette. Mushroom Records released Doucette's Mama Let Him Play in 1978 and The Douce Is Loose the following year. Jerry Doucette died on April 18, 2022 while in treatment for cancer; he was 70 years old. ~ John Bush
