Australian producer Kane Ikin came to prominence as half of ambient/drone duo Solo Andata before embarking on a solo career. Ikin's debut solo release was the single "Contrail" in 2011. His debut solo album, Sublunar, followed in 2012. That same year he also released a collaborative album with David Wenngren. After a couple EPs, a digital-only mixtape of odds and ends culled from Ikin's hard drive, Sync/Textile, appeared in 2015. Modern Pressure dropped the following year. Born of a period of financial hardship that saw Ikin reduced to selling off his gear piece by piece to make ends meet, it was by necessity a more stripped-down affair. ~ John D. Buchanan
