EDITORS’ NOTES

When 22-year-old Harley Streten stepped up to accept his Best Male Artist title at the 2013 ARIA Awards in his hometown of Sydney, you could almost see the zeitgeist peeking from the pocket of his sleek black suit. The boy who would become Flume had been splicing hip-hop, electro-pop and R&B into squelchy atmospheric collages in his bedroom since he was 13. By the time he released his GRAMMY®-winning sophomore LP, Skin, only three years later, he wasn't just splicing. He was composing afresh. Collaborating with artists as diverse as Vince Staples, Andrew Wyatt, Kučka and Tove Lo, Streten crafts soulful beats, chart-dominating pop, wild instrumentals and titanic hip-hop with a once-in-a-generation golden touch.
