These are the performances, more than any other, that Morricone's reputation was built upon. This 31-track, 73-minute collection draws highlights from nine of his 1960s Westerns, leaning especially heavily on A Fistful Of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and Once Upon A Time In The West. Ranging from hysterical gunfighter ballads to contemporary classical chamber music, it is among the most dramatic and evocative music composed in any idiom.
