'Live' Trucker

'Live' Trucker

Between 2000 and 2004, the Motor City bad boy returned home for a series of concerts with his thunderous band, Twisted Brown Trucker. The highlights are condensed into "Live" Trucker—essentially a greatest-hits collection adorned with cover art that tips its hat to Live Bullet (Live) by fellow Michigan native Bob Seger. After introducing himself with a few raucous anthems (“Son of Detroit,” “Bawitdaba”), Kid Rock stirs the pot by taking shots at various chart-toppers on “Cowboy Intro.” The album’s 13 cuts reflect his evolving sound: from rap tracks featuring late hype man Joe C (“Devil Without a Cause,” “Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp”) to countryfied ballads (“Picture,” performed here with GRAMMY® Award winner Gretchen Wilson) and plenty of rocking party-starters that showcase his uncompromising braggadocio and rebel spirit.
