"Sixteen Smooth Sides by Detroit's Soulful Songstress" are featured on this compilation of singles and albums tracks, spanning 1962-68. Includes the number-one hit title track, as well as the girl-group-style Top Tenners "Make Me Your Baby" and "Baby I'm Yours," and the original version of "Someday We're Gonna Love Again" (which was a hit for the Searchers). Some of the most velvety soul ever waxed.

Pop-soul doesn't get much better than Barbara Lewis, whose seductive, emotive croon took "Hello Stranger" to number three in 1963. The Michigan native had been writing songs since the age of nine, and began recording as a teenager with producer Ollie McLaughlin, who also had a hand in the careers of Del Shannon, the Capitols, and Deon Jackson.
