Visualising but not advising

It is nice to see what you've got, but I am aware of the content I actually create and download on my computer. What I am missing here is the clear sign - here are all the temporary files which you normally cannot see but your computer creates and saves anyway - here, trash them and nothing bad happens, you just unloaded your comp and you are free to continue your regular work. This is missing. But thank you for a nice visualisation.

Developer Response ,

There are tools in the market that do what you have in mind - clean temporary files for you in one click - but their efficiency is typically from low to none, because the temporary files and caches are not necessarily large, and by deleting them you don’t get a lot of free space. After using such a tool you typically have to use DaisyDisk to actually free up space:) Besides, the caches are created for a reason, they speed up your Mac performance, and deleting them may be both counterproductive and futile, because the apps will soon recreate them again. By contrast, DaisyDisk allows you to view what is ACTUALLY taking up your disk space. Yes, you have the final say what to delete, but it may be actually a good thing - because the automatic cleaners have no way to know what you need or don’t need. For example, a movie you have already watched. A game you no longer play. Etc. It’s telling that you mention “but I’m aware of the content I create and download”. In fact, most users just like you are able to identify their files and make an informed decision what to delete. Thanks for your feedback!

Must have for SSD

Have been using it for several years. Just removed 33 GB of files, I would never find some of them manually.
