About Angel

Multi-instrumentalist, producer and vocalist Angel effortlessly weaves together the worlds of hip-hop, R&B, reggae and grime, creating a customised sound that ebbs and flows across his discography. Born Sirach Charles—the son of keyboardist Tendai Charles—in 1987 in West London, Angel formed a band early on with his siblings, called the Charles Family. In 2010, Angel released his first solo mixtape, Patience Is a Virtue, led by the high-energy dance single “Julie”. By 2016, Angel set his sights on mainstream success, collaborating with up-and-coming Birmingham rapper Stefflon Don on the seductive, trap&B-tinged “Hop On”. Angel’s 2018 debut album, Woman, featured the amorous standout “Return of the Mackin’”. The following year, his introspective acoustic song “Blessings” would receive a star-studded dancehall remix (with hip-hop hitmaker French Montana and Nigerian pop icon Davido) that demonstrated Angel’s ever-present versatility.
