About Josh Fox

A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer who has devoted his life to spreading the word of the Lord through music, Josh Fox has made a name for himself as both a recording artist and worship leader. Fox was born in Humbolt County, California, where his mother was active in her church and also wrote songs. When he was 16, Fox had a spiritual awakening, and around the same time, he developed an interest in playing and writing songs. Fox formed the first of several bands with friends, playing in coffeehouses and music clubs, and at 19, he was invited to lead a musical worship group in San Diego. When he was in his twenties, Fox relocated to Santa Cruz, California, and alongside Dan Kimball, he became involved with a youth ministry program that expanded into an alternative worship gathering known as Graceland. In time, Graceland evolved into the Vintage Faith Church, and Kimball became a respected figure in what was dubbed the Emerging Church movement. As Fox's role in Vintage Faith Church's music ministry grew, he matured as a songwriter, and in 2005, he released his debut EP of worship music, Under the Mercy. A full-length album, Radiant, followed in 2010, and after bankrolling another recording project through a crowd-funding campaign, Fox delivered Rescue in 2013. In time, Fox would become affiliated with San Jose's WestGate Church, as well as the Anthem School of Worship, where students learn to be stronger and more effective in their ministry. In 2017, Fox dropped a five-song EP, Come to the Cross. ~ Mark Deming
