About Kish Mauve

Occupying the same '80s-inspired electro-pop territory as Ladyhawke and Dragonette, Kish Mauve are an English synth-based duo, best known for their work with Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue. Originally a three-piece girl band, they released a self-titled EP in 2005 before lead singer Mima Stilwell teamed up with producer Jim Eliot to form a new outfit inspired by the sounds of Kate Bush, early Eurythmics, and Kraftwerk. While working on their debut album with Dave Bascombe (Depeche Mode), they temporarily recruited guitarist James Sedwards and drummer Fraser Robb before releasing debut single, "Modern Love," a year later. Following the use of their material in U.S. drama Dirty Sexy Money, a Kate Moss Rimmel advert, and a Sony Ericsson phone campaign, they eventually released their first album, Black Heart, through their own label, YNYS Recordings, in 2009. They have since become established songwriters for other artists including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alphabeat, and Operator Please, but their biggest success has been with Kylie Minogue, whose lead singles for 2007's X ("2 Hearts") and 2010's Aphrodite ("All The Lovers"), were both penned by the duo. Their second album is scheduled for release in 2011. ~ Jon O'Brien
