Nuevo Quinteto Real

About Nuevo Quinteto Real

Argentinean Quinteto Real was formed in 1960 by pianist Horacio Salgán and guitarist Ubaldo De Lío, who were joined by Enrique Mario Francini, Rafael Ferro, and bandoneonist Pedro Laurenz. The group recorded a self-titled debut album that same year, which was followed by Su Majestad El Tango. In 1964, these talented tango and milonga performers had the opportunity to perform in Japan, making a record called Quinteto Real en Japon. After they were joined by bandoneonist Leopoldo Federico and violinist Antonio Agri, the group changed its name to Nuevo Quinteto Real. ~ Drago Bonacich
