About Steve Benbow

British folk singer and guitarist Steve Benbow spent the early part of his career accompanying other singers until going solo in '57, after which he became a prime instigator of the British folk revival. In the '60s, he had a popular and influential folk show on Radio Luxembourg, as well as producing and performing with a host of folk luminaries. He also collaborated memorably with comedian Spike Milligan. Benbow continued to perform through the next few decades, but didn't return to recording until his well-received 2003 comeback album. He passed away in 2006.
