Georgia garage rock renegades Black Lips formed in 1999, when the members were all still unruly teenagers. During their prolific career, Black Lips have hung onto that youthful and defiant edge, even as they've matured into some of the best songwriters on the international garage scene. They released several indie albums during the ‘00s, but it was their fourth record, 2007's Good Bad Not Evil, released at the height of the garage rock explosion, that found them at the center of mainstream attention. Their sound has since continued to grow, taking on vintage soul influences.
