Are you a fan of the number puzzle Kakuro or any of its variants? If so, you'll want to check out KakuroCalc, a simple tool to aid in determining the possible combinations required for solving the puzzle.
With KakuroCalc, you simply select the number of digits you are looking for, as well as the sum. KakuroCalc automatically presents you with a list of possible digit combinations that add up to that sum. You can get rid of that ratty old cheat sheet containing all of these sums, and you don't have to keep flipping the Kakuro magazine to the sum pages in the back of the mag.
As an additional feature, KakuroCalc allows you to specify digits that you already know are part of the sum, shrinking the list of possible combinations.
Some variations of Kakuro use multiplication, division or subtraction. Not a problem--KakuroCalc allows you to specify which type of arithmetic operation you require.
But wait, there's more! Some Kakuro-like number puzzles may not use all nine non-zero digits. Again, not a problem. KakuroCalc's Max Digit feature lets you specify the highest possible digit in the puzzle you are solving.
KakuroCalc does not provide Kakuro puzzles, its just a tool to help solve them. It's most helpful with printed puzzles, as well as with online or automated puzzles that do not already provide clues.
If you find yourself getting tired of always asking yourself things like "What six digits add up to 25?" KakuroCalc may be just the app you need!
