Reseña de álbum

With a ubiquitous last name in reggae, Bob Marley's catalog goes so much deeper than even his host of well-known '70s albums or the college dorm staple and internationally best-selling greatest-hits collection Legend. Marley & the Wailers were active long before they broke out as a roots sensation, recording and releasing singles for years as their reputation grew with reggae's prominence. Ammunition Dub Collection investigates not the early singles, but the dub mixes and instrumental versions that graced the B-sides of said singles. Early, rudimentary dub implementations of echo and on-the-fly mixing show up on raw dub plate versions of tracks like the ska-flavored "Pass It On" and the slightly more high-fidelity dub mixes of "Soul Rebel" and "Dreamland," which stand out on this collection of solid grooves and jagged, dreamy production.
