Reseña de álbum

Thought Industry never makes it easy on the listener. From album to album, the Kalamazoo crew never stands still for a second, going from thrashy to grandiose prog passages to shorter, more to-the-point numbers, and on this, the band's sixth, their least metallic and most dynamic material. But as hard as it is to keep up with the group, the more rewarding it is when you succeed in doing so. A few cuts are melodic masterpieces that immediately make an impact, especially "I'm Lonely (Like a Cancer)" and the spacy "Particle Hustler." But Thought Industry really excels when challenging the listener, such as on the Peter Gabriel-infused "Lovers in Flames"; "Tall Ship on the Rocks," which sounds like Kansas meets the Church, believe it or not; and "Longfellow," a brooding roller-coaster ride through the band's vivid imagination. It is sad to see Thought Industry so misunderstood. Make no mistake; it's perfectly understandable why — the great ones always are. ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi
