Thai indie rock band Bodyslam first found fame as La-on in 1996. The name means 'young people' in the northern Thai dialect, referencing the band members' shared childhood at the same school. In 2002, three of the original members left and the remaining renamed themselves Bodyslam, releasing a series of popular albums, most notably Save My Life which won them Best Rock Group, Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song at the Season Awards in 2008. Charismatic, joyous and catchy, Bodyslam are one of Thailand's most popular bands, commanding crowds of over 60,000 at stadium gigs.
