Lifetime proves attitude is the best accessory with the new competition series, Project Accessory. Hosted by actress and model Molly Sims, the series follows 12 designers as they showcase their unique vision to the judges and show audiences how the right accessories can transform any outfit. With the help of lifestyle expert Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti as their mentor, the designers must dazzle Sims, esteemed designer Kenneth Cole and InStyle editor Ariel Foxman with one-of-a-kind jewelry, belts, bags, shoes and headpieces they hope will revolutionize the multi-billion dollar accessories business. Guest judges this season include Emmy Award-winning actress Debra Messing, fashion critic and television personality Kelly Osbourne and other fashion luminaries.

Too much of a good thing...
Project Runway this ain't! As a spin off of a fantastic TV show, this is cheap and derivative. It doesn't come anywhere close to the quality of it's parent; the presenters and judges are wooden, and dear god, whoever put all that underscoring in needs locking up - I have a headache after struggling to hear what anyone had to say over all of the music. Too much of a good thing can be bad for you, and this was B-A-D.
Same kind of idea as project runway, but worse
Of course its expected to follow in the lines of project runway, and how they do things, but its just downplayed. The accessory wall goes from Piperlime (PR) to Ebay (PA). The magazine editor judge goes from Marie Claire to InStyle. They also edited out a lot of the mentor sessions. (They showed three people with a mentor out of all 12.)
If you like watching the mentor sessions, judging, and hair and makeup, than Project Runway is for you.
If you like watching the construction of the pieces, material choice and contestant breakdowns, than Project Accessory is for you.
Overall, its an ok show, but it depends on what you want to see.
Don't be fooled, it is edited very differently than project runway.
I hope this helped :)
Like Project Runway, but not.
I actually like this show. I mean, of course it is going to seem derivative of Project Runway (it is supposed to seem that way, they want the same demographic/audience), but there is something fresh about the show. My favorite challenges in Project Runway are the ones in which they are forced to use hardware/strange materials, and in Project Accessory, I think we will definitely see more of those. I kind of see this show as a cross between Runway and Work of Art.
