Erring on the side of optimism with the rating...
I have really enjoyed Stargate (both SG1 and Atlantis) and so am curious to see how Universe turns out. Still, did the images in and editing of the trailer remind anyone else of the 200th episode of SG1 where they made FUN of bringing in a younger cast and trying to make it hip by filling it with explosions and sex? I will definitely still check it out when it airs, though. (The special effects look quite nice.) ^_^
Awesome Trailer, Inconsistent Criticism
Most Sci-Fi shows borrow things from others. If the characters are as solid as they seem to be, I'll be back every week. The relationships and characters were what I loved more than any plot of SG-1 and Atlantis. If they're focusing on that more in this series, it can only improve. The action looks awesome so if characters back that up, I'm really on board. SG-1 and Atlantis borrowed from ST:TOS and TNG so why is SGU APPEARING to be similar to Voyager now a bad thing? Be consistent in your criticisms please.
Not Too Good
I love both the previous seasons of Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis). They had a good thing going with Atlantis and ended it too soon. Now we are stuck with Universe. The women characters were whiney, the men fought too much, it was too dark, and there was absolutly no humor. They needed that typical humorous Stargate relationship between two guys like Jack and Daniel. The storyline is too much like Star Trek, lost in space. The ship they were on didn't even look loke any of the Ancient ships we saw in Atlantis. I don't think this show will pick up. I definently wont be watching it.
