Psych returns for its second season. In the premiere episode, "American Duos," the requisite cruel British judge from an American Idol rip-off show finds himself in a panic after a series of near-miss attempts on his life. Shawn and his trusty sidekick, Gus, will contend with more foes in their sophomore season, including a rival psychic detective hired by the feds, a fictional murder that turns real on the set of Santa Barbara's most popular Spanish soap opera, and the return of the childhood bully who tormented the best buddies growing up.

As witty and fun as a mystery show could be!

I was attracted to this show because it's a mystery show but at the same time it's fun, witty, and light-hearted. With crime shows such as CSI: and Law & Order getting darker, this is a great alternative option. The acting and writing is one of the best on tv (in my opinion) and the relationships between the characters has the perfect chemistry. I was a big fan of Gilmore Girls because of the wittiness and pop culture references. However in the later seasons it began to lose those qualities. I thought I wouldn't find a show with both of those characteristics, and then I saw Psych and fell in love with it. Season 1 is currently on iTunes and on DVD, and recommend you consider buying it because even if you've seen the episodes it's fun to watch them again and try to pick up on little details you didn't the first time. Psych is a great show that will hopefully be around for a while.

I'm sensing... that you don't wanna miss Psych

Fun is the name of the game and this show does not let up. Full of energy, non-stop laughs, charming, quirky characters, clever mysteries, and a bit of drama to round out a show whose concept alone promises it won't take itself too seriously- this show has all the ingredients of a hit you don't want to miss. There isn't a weak link among this delightfully talented cast of actors who can't hide the fact- and why would they want to? It can only be a good thing.- that they actually like each other, they like what they're doing and they're having a blast every step of the way. So check it out. Treat yourself to a refreshing pineapple smoothie and watch a few episodes of Psych. You won't regret it.

A real gem

Disclaimer: I have only seen all of the episodes of the first season and the first episode of the second season at the time of this writing. psych is a wonderful tv program that has a winning combination of endearing characters, interesting story lines, and pop culture references. The show follows Shawn Spencer, a man with amazing detective skills who pretends to be a psychic to help the police solve cases. Joining Shawn are his father (played by the wonderful Corbin Bernsen), his best friend Gus, and two police officers (Carlton Lassiter and Juliet O'Hara). Each episode starts with a flash back to Shawn's youth and then proceeds to the current day. If the first episode of the second season is any indication of the rest of the season this should be better than the first season. With a guest star role from Tim Curry and an homage to Roland Orzabal (please purchase Tomcats Screaming Outside, a fantastic album) it is a well written and well acted episode! This is a show many people are not watching but should.
