Lots of people find themselves leading a double life… but none quite like this. After Detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs) wakes up from a car accident with his wife and teenage son, he learns the devastating news that his wife died in the crash. Trying to put the pieces of his life back together, he wakes up a few days later to realize that his wife is very much alive and his son died in the accident! Did he lose his wife or his son? Or neither of them? Michael goes back to work solving crimes while trying to put things back on a "normal" track, but alternating between realities provides some challenges. Michael begins seeing two different therapists to help him sort things out, but then again why would he want either "reality" to go away when the totality of both means having his family complete? From groundbreaking writer Kyle Killen comes a drama about the power of the mind, where the inception of life is a mystery and reality might just be overrated.

Great mind thriller
A great show that actually had and required me to use my brain. What a breath of fresh air in today's modern entertainment.
Kyle Killen has a winner in "Awake." It's a show for the brain, making you think of a dozen "what ifs?" long after it's done playing. I had to come up with mnemonics to keep the two realities straight (the wife is alive if it's the male psychiatrist, the son is alive if it's the female psychiatrist). As if the premise wasn't good enough, the detective cases were also interesting, especially the cabbie killer. I wondered aloud early on if the cases would somehow be related. Now I'm wondering if we're also being given clues. Could it be as simple as the green bracelet the lead wears to remind him his son is alive that day, and the red bracelet meaning his wife is alive, mean green is go...the son being alive is the "real" reality, and the red for stop means it's the wife who is really dead? I have a feeling that nothing is going to be simple about this show, and that's what will keep me coming back every week. Please, please to the writers and creator of this show...keep the quality, the tenseness and the "what ifs" going for a long time. Thank you for bringing us this show!
Television Wakes Up
First episode was great! This show has a lot of potential. I have been waiting for a show like this ever since Lost ended. I hope it can live up to the complexity of this first episode. (like the fact that one reality has windows PCs and the other has Apples!!)
